ドイツ留学レポート①
Hallo！ドイツに来て、１週間ほど経ちました。Oldenburgは、25度ぐらいで、夜は少し肌寒いです。木々は、赤色や黄色に色づき、秋の訪れが感じられます。
私は、今、雲雀丘学園の協定校である、OldenburgのHerbartgymnasiumの11年生として、留学しています。留学する１年ぐらい前から、ドイツ語の勉強を始めました。ドイツ語の勉強はとても楽しく、これから１年、実際にドイツで、ドイツ語の授業を受ける、そして毎日ドイツ語を話すということを考えると、心が弾みます。
学校の一日は、たいてい朝7時50分に始まり、午後1時15分に終わります。（１日に６コマ授業がありますが、７限、８限があることもあります。）日によって、異なりますが、通常、１日に3つの教科を学びます。それぞれの教科は2コマ連続で行われます。1コマは50分で、その間には5分間の短い休憩があります。そして、2コマの授業が終わるごとに、20分間の長めの休憩があります。授業は、ドイツ語で行われるものが多いですが、英語で行われる授業もあります。
また、外国語の授業も提供されています。ラテン語、スペイン語、フランス語の選択肢があり、私はフランス語の授業を取っています。11年生は、すでに中級ぐらいのフランス語能力があり、私も授業に少しでもついていくため、フランス語の勉強も始めたいと考えています。日本では、学校で学べる外国語は、英語の１言語のみですので、ドイツの学校のシステムは、大変興味深く感じます。
さらに、私は、日本語教育に興味があるので、日本語の授業を、午後から週に２回とっています。日本語を生徒と話したり、日本の文化を共有したりするのは楽しいです。また、自分の育った国について、考え直すきっかけにもなると思います。日本語の授業では、９月から雲雀丘学園に留学する生徒とも、一緒に日本語の練習をしました。これから一年間の留学生活、毎日を大切に過ごしていきたいです。
Hallo! It has been a week since I arrived in Germany. Here in Oldenburg, the weather is already quite chilly, with temperatures around 25 degrees. The leaves on the trees are slowly turning red. I can already feel the arrival of autumn, and maybe even a hint of winter. On particularly cold days, it really hits me that I'm not in Japan anymore.
I'm an exchange student at Herbartgymnasium in Oldenburg, and I'm now in Year 11. I started learning German about a year ago, and I have found the language both fascinating and fun to learn. It is exciting to think that I will be spending an entire year here, attending lessons in German and communicating with students in the language.
The school day starts quite early at 7:50 a.m. and finishes at 1:15 p.m. Every day, we usually have three main subjects, and each subject is taught in two consecutive 50-minute lessons. Between the two lessons, there is a short 5-minute break. After each pair of lessons, we have a longer 20-minute break. Most classes are conducted in German, although some are taught in English. The school also offers foreign language classes, with students choosing between Latin, Spanish, and French. I am currently taking French.
At the moment, I do not understand much during French lessons, as I have never studied the language before. However, I am thinking of starting from the basics, such as learning the alphabet. Despite the challenge, French has already become one of my favourite subjects. In Japan, we only study English as a foreign language, so I find the German school system really interesting, especially the variety of language options available to students.
In addition to my regular classes, I also take Japanese lessons twice a week in the afternoons, as I am particularly interested in how Japanese is taught as a foreign language. I have also had the opportunity to practise speaking Japanese with a student who will be going to HibarigaokaGakuen this September.
All in all, I am truly excited about the journey ahead of me here.
