ドイツ留学レポート⑦
Hello!
I have now been living with my third host family for two months. They are very friendly, and I am having a wonderful time with them. Every host family is completely different, and each time I learn something new. I think this is one of the most interesting aspects of life as an international student. Recently, I often watched football and played games with my host family and friends.
I have also started bouldering. Last weekend, I had a sleepover at the bouldering hall, where we even played hide-and-seek. It was a very special and memorable experience for me.
Next, I would like to write about the Easter holidays here in Germany. During the holidays, I visited Wangerooge with my host family. Wangerooge is a small island in the North Sea, and there are no cars there. I really liked the atmosphere of the island. Although it was very windy, I enjoyed the beautiful beach very much.
During our stay, I had an origami session with my host family and the children. We folded ninja stars, frogs, and rabbits for Easter. It was a wonderful experience because we could enjoy ourselves together while also introducing Japanese culture. I also painted the figures with my host mother and brother. In addition, we watched all three The Lord of the Rings films together. Overall, I had a very relaxing and enjoyable time there.
At Easter, I painted eggs with my host mother as decorations. We also visited our grandparents and had lunch together as a family. Afterwards, our grandmother hid sweets in the garden, and we went looking for them. After that, we played a game called "Isel" together. It is a very simple game, but at the same time very fun.
In Germany, it seems to be very common to play games with family and friends. I really like this culture because it allows families to spend quality time together.
Finally, I would like to write about what has been happening at school recently. I have taken several exams, including Religion, Biology, English, History, and a French oral exam. In History class, we are currently learning about the GDR, or East Germany.
One interesting difference I have noticed recently is the way books are used in lessons. For example, in French class, everyone bought a book, read it at home, and then we discussed and analysed it in class. The same also applies in German lessons. Since last month, we have been reading a new book called Perfume.
I would like to enjoy every moment as much as I can.
