ドイツ留学レポート⑧

Hallo!

I'm excited to share a wonderful story about birthdays in Germany. In Germany, birthdays are celebrated with a lot of happiness and great importance. One small tip to remember is not to celebrate before the actual birthday, as many believe it could bring bad luck. When someone's special day arrives, they often bring sweets they've baked or bought to share with classmates, which makes the celebration even more joyful. Students gather around to sing a happy birthday song, creating a heartwarming moment that everyone loves at school. It's also quite popular for students to host birthday parties, making the day even more memorable! I find it really interesting to see how birthday celebrations in Germany differ from those in Japan.

Next, I'd love to tell you about my cooking adventures. Over the weekend, I made a Japanese breakfast for my host family. I cooked rice, eggs, miso soup, and also prepared a refreshing cucumber dish. Another time, I tried making okonomiyaki, and it turned out great! My friends and host family really enjoyed it!

See you next time!
