On Sunday June 17th, one junior high school third grade ESS member and one second grade member took part in the 14th Hyogo Prefecture Private Junior High School English Recitation Contest held at the Private Education Hall in Motomachi, Kobe. M-san read an excerpt from Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, and H-san read the English Rakugo “It’s on my head!”

６月１７日（日）、神戸元町にある兵庫県私学会館で行われた兵庫県私立中学校第１４回レシテーションに中３一人と中２一人が参加しました。MさんはRoald Dahl の「Charlie and the Chocolate Factory」の一部、Hさんは英語の落語「It’s on my head!」を暗唱しました。

While they unfortunately didn’t win any prizes, both students enjoyed themselves and performed well in what was a very high-level contest. This was a result of their having prepared well both at home and in school during club activities and at other times, such as early in the morning or at lunch. They really did a good job – well done!

残念ながら、入賞になりませんでしたが、二人がレベルの高いコンテストで楽しい経験をし、また、家や学校の始業前や昼休憩にしっかり練習した成果を発揮することができました。本当に素晴らしかった。お疲れ様でした！

Considering next year, the judges gave useful comments that we will make use of in our ESS club. Let’s do our best next time!
